Robert N. Diltz, age 95 of Dayton, passed away on his birthday, December 17, 2018. He was born December 17, 1923 in Greenville, Ohio to the late Howard and Ruth Diltz. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Orabelle "Fran" Diltz; and his siblings: Warren, Howard, Jack and Ginny Diltz.
Bob is survived by his children: Tamara (Michael) Diltz-Andary, Teresa (Clayton) Blosser and Robert (Laura) Diltz, Jr.; grandchildren: Brittany (Cody) Bone, Taylor Andary and Tyler Andary; great-grandson, Elijah Bone; brother, James (Sharon) Diltz; sister, Mary Ann (Gene) Zimmers; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, where he served in the 11th Airborne Division, WWII, and was a personal guard of General Douglas McArthur. He was a member of Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church and was an avid fisherman.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1-2 pm on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where a celebration of life service will begin at 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Dayton National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bob's memory to The Hospice of Dayton.
