Robert "Bob" DeFelice, 87, peacefully passed away on November 9th, 2022, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. He was born June 29, 1935, in Pennsylvania to his parents, the late Leando and Mary DeFelice.
Bob was a graduate of Ohio State, which he attended on a wrestling scholarship, later receiving a master's degree in education from Xavier. Upon graduation from OSU, he became a teacher/coach at Stebbins High School, becoming vice principal and being named Father of Wrestling for his personal wrestling accomplishments, and for forming Dayton's first high school wrestling team. He was awarded Father of Wrestling in Ohio State's Hall of Fame. After retiring from education, Bob formed a company, ISI Data Services, a computer service bureau, from which he also retired. His life was a series of wonderful accomplishments.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Diane; brother, Vic (Liz) DeFelice; son, Terry (Sue) DeFelice; daughter, Sherry (Ray) Freudiger; granddaughters, Brittany (Brock) VanCleave, Alicia DeFelice, and Becca Freudiger; grandsons, Andrew DeFelice and Dan Freudiger; great-grandchildren, Heidi and Easton VanCleave; nephew, Tony DeFelice; and niece Karen (Nick) DeGilio.
Bob is also survived by his step-daughters, Christy (Jim) Farris and Michele (Mike) DeLaet; grandsons, Adam (Aubrey) DeLaet, Nick DeLaet, and Ethan Farris; nephew, Brian Gorham; niece, Shelley (Vince) Catanzaro; grand-nephew, Dominic Catanzaro; and Bob's faithful companion, his dog Benji.
He loved his family, Ohio State football, wrestling, and golf. Bob was loved and will be missed by many.
