Robert L. Davis, "Bobby" "Bob", age 87, of Miamisburg, passed away December 5, 2020. He was born July 24, 1933 in Dayton, Ohio to the late James and Pauline (Ackley) Davis.
Bobby worked at NCR and went on to work at Bob Ross Buick, White Allen Chevrolet and Rodgers Pontiac with many years of service. Bob opened and operated his own body shop, G & B Body Shop. He enjoyed his career, ownership and fellowship with the guys he worked with every day and throughout his career. Bob had a love for the racing industry as he drove his own race car, and won many races. He also had a passion for Bass fishing tournaments. Bob truly enjoyed fishing with his wife, Gwen, son-in-law, Shelby, and his many friends in the fishing world.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Gwen.
He is survived by his daughters, Pam (Shelby) Bicknell, Mindy Dalton; grandchildren, Michelle Kelly, Megan Weaver, Alia Dalton; great-grandchildren, Bill Yates, Jesse Yates, Avery Weaver, and Brody Weaver. Bobby is also survived by his sister, Patricia Davis and brother, Jimmy Davis.
Bob was genuine, honest, ethical, hardworking and very special. He will always be remembered by family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hope Fund for COVID-19 frontline workers relief through the Grandview Foundation or to Hospice of Dayton.
An internet only memorial service for Bob Davis will be hosted by Washington Heights Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 30 at 3:00 p.m. For access to this service go to whbc.org and click on the Bob Davis Memorial Service image. This will take you to a Zoom Meetings link which will allow entrance to the virtual service. A memorial slideshow will begin running on that website at 2:45 p.m.
There will be a celebration of Bob's life in the future as soon as it is safe to gather.
