Robert Charles Gibson
Age 85 of Dayton, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012, at The Hospice of Dayton.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Lois Jean Gibson, in 1997; his parents, James W. & Opal Gibson; one grandson, Robert Morgan; and by five brothers & sisters, James Gibson, Richard Gibson, Virginia Schenck, Marjorie Rieger & Betsy Harsha.
Bob is survived by three children, Charles (Lillian) Gibson, Donna Daugherty and Robert Douglas (Deborah) Gibson; 12 grandchildren, Jocelyn (Jean) Luzuriaga, Chadwick Michael Gibson, Nathaniel Morris, Nicole Morgan, Jaime Morgan, Leslie (Steve Bickett) Daugherty, Robert S. Daugherty, Cindy (Justin) Spencer, Aleesha Varley, David Varley, Jessica Gibson and Margaret Chambers; numerous great grandchildren; his dog, Ollie; and by his extended family & many good friends.
During WW II Bob served in the U. S. Army. After that he went on to work at Dayton Walther Corp for 33 years. Bob was a 63 year member of the Farmersville Masonic Lodge # 235 F & AM; and he was an avid woodcrafter, a collector of model cars, he enjoyed Big Band music and will be remembered as a dog lover.
The family will be receiving friends & family from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Memorial services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Bob will be entombed at Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Bob to The Hospice of Dayton.
