Robert C. Staton

Robert "Bob" Staton, age 60, of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gwendlyn Staton and his son, Andrew Staton. Bob is survived by his life companion and caregiver, Frances Brown; mother of his children, Debra Whitaker; children, Jason (Cheryl) Staton and Robbie (April) Staton; granddaughter, Mackenzie Staton and her mother, Amanda Hurley; father, Robert Staton; brother, Tracy Staton; sisters, Connie (Tom) Dano, Sue Ann Moore, Peggy (Jim) Miller, and Dorothy Staton and many other family and friends. Bob served his country in the USMC and earned the Purple Heart during the Vietnam Era. He retired from the US Postal Service after 30 years. Bob and his "sarcastic" sense of humor will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 8, 2009 from 5-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). Services will be held Monday, November 9, 2009 at 11:00am at the funeral home, with Pastor Jerry Siler officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bob's memory to the Diabetes Association.
