Robert C. Cockayne

COCKAYNE, Robert C., age 84, of Dayton, passed away, Saturday, January 30, 2010. He was born January 10, 1926 in Butler, Kentucky. Robert served with the United States Army during World War II and retired from the Dayton Fire Department after 34 years on the job. He is survived by his children, Michael (Carol) Cockayne, Barbara (Gary) Elliott, Peggy (Larry) Daugherty, Robert (Connie) Cockayne, Beverly (Kevin) Williams, Melanie Cosby, and Christina Cockayne; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis Altic and Ida Mae Vaughn; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Velma Cockayne; son, Lee C. Cockayne; brother, LeVaughn Cockayne.
