Robert "Rob" Joseph Bretzfelder, passed away on May 23, 2024 due to complications from a Colorectal Cancer diagnosis he fought for over 5 years. He was born on October 7, 1963 in Dayton, Ohio to the late William and Gretchen Bretzfelder.
Rob married the love of his life, Tammy, on May 30th, 1987. They spent nearly 37 married years together and had two children. He was a 1982 graduate of Meadowdale High School and worked at Dayton Phoenix Group for 36 years. He enjoyed cooking and grilling out, tending to his yard, reading, and spending time with his wife and children. He loved to shoot pool, play cornhole, and would spend hours on end shooting hoops in the back alley when Pat and Bri were kids. Rob loved the many pets (cats, dogs, & a duck) he had throughout his life. As a man of humor, he brought laughter and joy with him everywhere. He was smart, genuine, and humble. He always put others first and was a staunch believer in the golden rule of treating others as you would want to be treated.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy (Simms) Bretzfelder; son, Patrick (Jenna) Bretzfelder; daughter, Bri (Logan) Perkins and was expecting his first grandchild. Additionally, Rob is also survived by his younger sister, Amy Walters, with whom he shared a close bond; three additional siblings; as well as his mother-in-law, numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and in-laws.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Gretchen (Tolle) Bretzfelder; father-in-law, Daniel Simms; and brother-in-law, David Walters.
A private celebration of life to honor Rob will be held at a later date.
