Robert "Bob" Wade Logel, age 78, of Troy and previously of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 24, 2023. Bob was born in Dayton on July 31.1944 to the late Dan and Esther Logel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Logel and his brother, Dan Logel. Bob is survived by his son, Anthony Wade Logel; sister, Cindy (Rick) Clevenger, sister-in-law, Lynne Logel and many other loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Bob graduated from Northridge High School and made his living in mortgage banking at PNC until retiring. He attended Living Word Church in Vandalia until he was not able to drive any longer but always inquired about what Pastor preached every Sunday.
Bob was known for his wit, humor, his love for people and love for life. Over his lifetime he enjoyed boating, running, biking, tennis, music, was an avid sports fan, loved the Ohio sports teams, especially the Buckeyes. And he and his son shared a love for animals, especially their pit bull, Morgan. He also loved good food. He always showed himself friendly to everyone because he never met a stranger. And Jesus was the reason behind all the good qualities in Bob.
Bob adopted a new family at the Randall Residence of Troy. It was an assisted living facility where he lived during the last 7 years. Each person, whether resident, family of residents, nurses, family of nurses, aides, or the administrative staff, he loved them all and attempted to be a substitute dad, grandfather, brother or just be a friend who genuinely cared. He brought joy and was a light that would shine to everyone one he met. He was the party!
Bob will be missed by so many especially his sister, Cindy who took an active part in making his later years as comfortable, peaceable, and joyful as possible. Seeing that all his needs were met and all his wants were fulfilled was the assignment she gladly accepted and saw until his last breath.
Services will be held at the Living Word Church, 926 East National Road, Vandalia, OH, officiated by Pastor Jason Norman, July 20, 2023 with visitation at 1pm, services following at 2pm. Scattering of the ashes will take place at a later date.
