Robert "Bob" Spitler, Sr.

Robert Spitler, Sr., 90, of Huber Heights, passed away January 6, 2017. Bob was born in Greenville, Ohio on July 17, 1926 to the late Ward and Lela Spitler. Bob retired from General Motors after more than 40 years of service. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. Bob was a lifetime member of Hope Lutheran Church. He also attended St. Timothy Lutheran Church for many years. In his free time he enjoyed traveling to Europe and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son, Michael Spitler; brothers, Donavin Spitler, Steve "Junior" Spitler, James Spitler, Marvin "Jake" Spitler; and sisters, Jean Haupt, Lavon "Doodle" Dibley.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Danielle Spitler; son, Robert "Bob" (Heidi) Spitler, Jr., daughter, Christine (Dale) Eby; grandchildren, Garrett Spitler, Travis Eby, Tyler (Marla) Spitler, Kyle (Amanda) Eby, Devin Spitler, Brianne Eby, Camden Spitler; great grandchildren, Hunter, Charlotte, Colton, Sabine; and many nieces, nephews and special friends.

A visitation will be held from 5-7pm on January 12, 2017 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 5040 Rye Drive, Huber Heights, Ohio 45424, where funeral services will be held at 10am on Friday, January 13, 2017 with Pastor Joel Sutton officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
