Robert (Bob) L. Adkins, age 79, of Urbana, Ohio was set free from emphysema and entered his new life to join his mother and father, a brother and a sister on Friday, August 3, 2012.
He was born on October 10, 1932 in Harriman, Tennessee to Robert Mason Adkins and Reba Pearl Brock. Bob is survived by Jeanette Adkins, of Urbana and daughters Jan Cox and Nancy Adkins and son Robert Gregory Adkins, all of Urbana. Two sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley Jane Ray and Don Ray of Kettering, Ohio and Carolyn Jean Ringler, of Dayton, Ohio. He is also survived by grandchildren, Colleen and Savanna Kitchen, of Urbana, Bethany Cox, of Urbana and Seth Cox, of Jellico, Tennessee, Logon Adkins and Makayla Adkins, both of Urbana, Ohio. Also great-grandchildren, Tyler Kitchen, Taylor and Madison Rutherford and Natalie and Paige Noelle Rutherford, all of Urbana and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was known as "The Avon Man" to many.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Lawson, of Harriman, Tennessee and a brother, Fred Bryan Adkins, of Miamisburg, Ohio.
Interment is in Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, OH. Private services will be held by the family.
