GIBSON, Robert A., age 79, of Xenia passed away peacefully Sunday, February 3, 2008, at Vitas Hospice after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born May 19, 1928 in Kensington Kansas, the son of Roger Gibson and Beulah (Peer) Gibson. Robert served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He lived in Xenia for 44 years and retired from WPAFB. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Lee Anne; and a sister Beverly Schiltz. Robert is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty Gibson; children Steve (Paulett) Gibson, David (Lori) Gibson, Kathleen (Ashraf) Azer, Mark Gibson, Matthew (Britta) Gibson; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister Barbara Ferrer; brother Jack Gibson both of Houston, TX.; childhood friend Herb VanEaton of Agra, Kansas; and a host of relatives and many friends. The family will celebrate Robert's life privately. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
