Fairborn

Rita Jean Wick, a devoted wife, cherished mother, beloved grandmother, and dear sister, passed away on January 27, 2025, in Beavercreek, Ohio, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on September 3, 1960, in Xenia, Ohio, Rita embodied warmth and generosity, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Rita retired from the Housekeeping Department at Dayton Children's Hospital, where her presence uplifted both staff and patients alike. Before this role, she dedicated many years of her career to Waste Management, showcasing her unwavering work ethic and commitment to her responsibilities. In addition to her professional endeavors, Rita found joy in volunteering at Fairborn First Church, where her heartfelt contributions touched the lives of many in her community.

Those who knew Rita will forever remember her huge heart and remarkable ability to connect with others. She never met a stranger; her friendly demeanor and love for conversation made everyone feel welcome in her company. Friends and family playfully nicknamed her home “Wick's Carryout,” a testament to her nurturing spirit, as she always sent her guests home with bags filled with goodies. Rita had a unique gift for shopping, often bringing thoughtful gifts to those she loved, and her greatest joy was spending time with her family, particularly her beloved grandchildren.

Rita is survived by her adored husband, William "Bill" Wick, and her loving children, Amber (Anthony) Broadstock and Allan Cantrell. She will be deeply missed by her step-sons, Matthew (Kala) Wick, William "Billy" Wick, Jr., and Joshua Wick. Rita's legacy continues through her treasured grandchildren: Gage, Nijah, Nahka, Aaron, Andrea, Natalie, Sara, Austin, Derrick, and Billy III, along with her great-grandchildren, Milo and Sebastian.

She leaves behind her siblings, Paul (Jerri) Stacy, JoAnn Ritchie, Gina Smith, and her sisters-in-law, Patty, Shelba, and Sue (Deb). The love and memories shared with Rita will be cherished by many other loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who were touched by her kindness and compassion.

Reunited with her parents, James and Elizabeth Stacy, Rita's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 2:00pm-3:00pm, followed by a funeral service at 3:00pm, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., in Beavercreek, Ohio.
