Rita Clark

Rita S. Clark, age 83 of Springfield, went home to be with the Lord on June 12, 2011. She was born November 30, 1927 in Cleveland to the late Roy H. and Julia R. Pool. In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Clark; son, Dennis R. Clark; and sister, Bernice Blair.

Rita is survived by her children: Dr. David (Susan) Clark, Susanne (Paul) Mitchell, and Dr. Allan Clark; 7 grandchildren: Jennifer, Julia, Matthew, Christopher, Stephen, Alexander, and William; 2 great grandchildren: Devon and Carson; brothers, Jerry (Connie) Pool and Raymond Pool; and numerous other loved ones and friends.

Rita was a member of First Covenant Church for 71 years and Church of the Carpenter for 2 years; she volunteered for the Lake County Church Network in Willoughby, founded the Fifty-Five Plus Senior Program for her church, and left a legacy of caring and love for people wherever she went. Most of all she loved Jesus and looked forward to singing in the Heavenly Choir.

Rita spent 81 years of her life in the Cleveland area and the last 2 in Springfield. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Church of the Carpenter, 5711 Shull Road, Huber Heights, Ohio 45424. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:15 pm on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at First Covenant Church, 29400 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills, Ohio 44092. The immediate family will bury Rita in Whitehaven Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Rita's memory to Church of the Carpenter (Dayton) or First Covenant Church (Willoughby Hills).
