Ridley Mitchell Haney, age 96, of West Carrollton, passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born July 11, 1924 in Cookeville, Tennessee the son of the late Dan and Mertie Farmer-Haney.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Haney; second wife, Freida Haney; siblings, Jack Haney, Lily (Haney) Stallon, Dorothy Haney, Walter Farmer, Arnold Farmer, Erastus Farmer, Valarie (Farmer) Dyer, Rose (Farmer) Dugan and Sylvia (Farmer) Dean.
Mitchell is survived by his children, Betty (Charlie) Wallace and David (Nancy) Haney; sister, Illa (Haney) Judd; grandchildren, Ken (Rhonda) Warner, David Jeremy (Lia Davis) Haney and Daniel (Ryan) Haney; great-grandchildren, Aidan Haney and Arden Haney; step-grandchildren, Kim Kohlrus and Renee Prediger; step-great-grandchildren, Luke Miller, Bethany (Prediger) Peppers; along with numerous family and friends.
He was a proud US Army veteran of WWII. Mitchell retired from General Motors after 44 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed working on cars, house building, carpentry and gardening. Mitchell attended Miami Shores Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 AM, Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery where he will be laid to rest next to his wife, Marie Haney. Pastor Wayne Woody will officiate Mitchell's service.
