Richetta F. Reed

July 15, 1938 — March 2, 2025

Richetta F. Reed, fondly known as Richie, left this world on March 2, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on July 15, 1938, she was a beacon of love and kindness, touching the lives of all who had the privilege to know her.

Richie dedicated 28 years to General Motors, followed by a fulfilling career at Navistar. Her work was not just a profession but a testament to her commitment as a dedicated and hard worker. She also found joy in making a difference in her community, contributing to Main Street Academy by providing meals for children. Besides her professional endeavors, Richie had an adventurous spirit, exploring the world of business by owning apartment buildings, showcasing her vibrant personality and her unwavering work ethic.

She was a loving individual with a deep compassion for others, always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Richie's warmth radiated not just in her work, but profoundly within her family. She cherished every moment spent with her children: Isaac Weaver (Ernestine Jackson), Solona Foster (Ceasol), Benita D. Lynch, Patricia R. Weaver (Rufus Reynolds), and Rachel L. Hill. Her legacy continues to flourish through her adoring grandchildren: Ivan, Robert, Dutchie, Keyton, Kim, Isaac Jr., Markia, and Casey, who carry forward the values she instilled in them.

Richie's love extended beyond her immediate family, embracing her siblings, Ruthanne, Oscar, and Rosella, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, who can all attest to her generous spirit and unwavering support.

Though she rejoiced in life and loved to travel around the country—especially to the beautiful landscapes of Gatlinburg, Tennessee—she now joins her dear parents, Richard and Kitnell Woods, as well as her granddaughter, Shavon, and siblings Gloria, Kidrichard Jr., and Clifton, who have preceded her in death.

The world has lost a shining light, but in every story shared and memory cherished, Richie’s spirit will undoubtedly continue to inspire those she left behind. Her love will echo in the hearts of her family, a lasting reminder of the good and loving person that she was.
