Richard William Lavin , age 90 of Centerville, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2016. He was born in Long Beach, CA to the late William and Anne Lavin. Richard retired from NCR after 35 years as a patent attorney. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII, earning a Purple Heart for his service and sacrifice.
He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus and NCR Country Club. Richard and his wife, June were avid travelers, visiting countries all over the world.
Richard was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Sr. Marie Lavin.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, June Lavin; beloved children, Teresa "Terri" (Joe) Hiett and William "Bill" (Rhonda) Lavin; and cherished grandchildren, Chris, Jon, Zac, Maddie, Kaitlyn, and Delainey; and many other loving relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016 from 5pm-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd.). A Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following day, Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 10:30am at Incarnation Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
