Richard Walter Haiges

HAIGES, Richard W., age 73, of New Carlisle, passed away after a long battle with Parkinson's disease complicated by pneumonia on Monday, May 25, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Dorothy Haiges; parents-in-law, Edwin and Dorothy Weikel, sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred (Twill) Miller, Ardith (Tom) Shea, John R. Zimmerman, and Clifford Weikel, as well as niece, Gail Miller.

Richard is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beverly Haiges; children, Monica (Steve) Edwards and Brian Haiges; grandchildren, Sara Fife, Devon Haiges, Steven Edwards II, Jordan Haiges; great grandchildren, Layne Fife, Karlee Fife, Annabelle Edwards, Phoenix Fife, and Kaysen Lyall; sister, Grace Zimmerman; brothers and sisters-in-law, David (Betty) Weikel and Pam and John Davenport; aunt, Esther Weikel; close friends, Robert and Ann Griffith, Tracy Johnston, Ken and Helene Meikle, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Richard retired from the U. S. Air Force after 27 years and then retired from Kodak after 15 years. The family would to extend a special thank you to the staff of Soin Medical Center and Hospice of Dayton.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, June 1, 2015 at the funeral home with burial following at Dayton National Cemetery.
