Richard Wallenhorst
November 28, 1921 — January 27, 2014
Richard "Dick" L. Wallenhorst, age 92, of Dayton, OH passed away Monday January 27, 2014.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jean and daughter, Bette Jean.
He is survived by his children, Marianne Wallenhorst, Michael (Kim) Wallenhorst, and Chris (Rick) Richardson; grandchildren, Katie, Lauren, Ellen, Claire, and Sydney; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Maura Goesling; 3 nephews and a niece.
Richard was a US Army veteran serving during WWII in the Philippines. His working career was spent in the Auto industry. Before retirement, he worked in Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
A special thanks to the Dayton VA Hospice and the loving care of the nurses, Tessa, Renee, Tiffany, and Veronica. Many thanks to the caring staff at Liberty of Washington Township, especially nurses, Nick, Jason, Summer, and Heather.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dayton VA Hospice Fund, 4100 W. Third Street, Dayton, OH 45428.
Arrangements are by the Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel), Kettering, OH.
