Richard Walter Bachman (Dick), 87, beloved husband of Marianne Bachman for 40 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 22.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth, father, Walter, sister, Wilma Weaver, son, Dana and his aunt, Laverne Levessay.
Dick is survived by his wife, Marianne; sister Barbara (Jerry) Mueller; daughter, Lisa (Randal) Hair, her daughter, Heather (Clayton) Collier, great-granddaughters, Hannah, Savannah, Ivy and Avery; son, Eric (Debbie) Bachman, his son, Brandon and daughter, Katie; Dana's wife, Connie, his daughter, Deirdre(Nick) Bachman Haggmark; daughter Catherine Anderson Krueger, her daughters, Jennifer Lea and Kimberly Marie; Kenneth (Laurie) Anderson, his son, Jack Dustin (JD); Joyce (Robert) Thommen, her sons Bradley and Ryan; Sheryl Anderson, her son Christopher, daughter Robyn (Joshua) Pitman Omiatek, and their daughter Bryanna and many loving nieces and nephews.
Richard was a Veteran of the Army in World War II. He retired from the government after 38 years of service, being decorated with the Air Force Gold Medal for Exceptional Civilian Service, the Air Force Silver Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service, the Air Force Bronze Medal for Outstanding Civilian Career Service, and he was a General Member of the National Aviation Hall of Fame. After retiring from the government, he moved to California and worked five years on the B-2 Bomber Program for the Northrop Corporation. He was a long time member of the QAC church where he and Marianne were active members and made many close friends.

Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 pm on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Queen of Apostles Church, 4400 Shakertown Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45430.
