Richard E. Stump

Richard "Sam" E. Stump, age 76, of Dayton passed away on September 6, 2023. He was born in Dayton on August 18, 1947 to the late Charles and Bernice Stump. In addition to his parents, Sam is preceded in death by his loving wife, Marylou; daughter, Mary Stump; grandson, Wesley; siblings, John Stump and Linda S.

Sam is survived by his children, Terry Stump, Sherry Stump, Rick (Julie) Stump, Jeff (Angela) Stump, David (Rebecca) Stump; 21 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; siblings, Butch Stump, Karen Gitzinger, Suzie Chadwick; along with many other loving family and friends.

Sam worked and retired from Fridgedaire after 20 years; one of his fondest memories was working with Martin Sheen. He enjoyed farming and teaching his family about the country life. Sam loved his family, his dog Rico and his beloved wife. He will be dearly missed and forever loved by his family.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Newcomer Kettering, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor David Tackett to officiate.
