Richard Lee Risner, age 75, of Beavercreek, passed away on October 16, 2023, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana, on September 24, 1948, the son of the late Harden "Jr." and Mary "Louise" Risner.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Marjorie "Marge" Risner; daughter, Crystal (Patrick) Kelley; son, Richard Lee Risner, Jr.; grandchildren, Scott, Adam, Stephanie, Max (Abby), Maranda (Cody) and Nicholas; great granddaughter, Michelle; sister, Carla Brady; and many other loving nieces, family and friends.
He proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps, during the Vietnam War. Richard also later served in the US Air Force, retiring from Wright Patterson Air Force Base, where he was in Communications. He was a member of the American Legion, the Double H Square Dance Club for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed shooting, going to Gun Shows, square dancing for 52 years, volunteering at the Air Force Museum, going to Car Shows, running his booth at the flea market and spending time with his family and friends. He also was a keyboardist and dulcimer player with the Rhythm Ramblers. Richard was a very generous, loyal, caring soul. He also loved to joke with others (even giving his Nurse, Jennifer, a hard time until the very end). Richard also had a very adventurous spirit, whether it be bungee jumping or going up in a hot air balloon. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
