Richard "Rick"L. Deitz

Richard "Rick" L. Deitz, age 63 of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully on April 16, 2024. He was born September 14, 1960 in Dayton, Ohio son of the late Richard W. and Mary (Burchett) Deitz.

Rick was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved serving his community in his position at Big Muffler Shop, in which he worked at for over 40 years. Outside of "the shop" he enjoyed playing drums in his band, and spending time with his family and friends. He had a passion for helping those around him, and had a generous nature about himself and would help anyone in need. He had a thirst for knowledge and loved to live life to the fullest. Rick will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his sisters, Thea "Renee" Wilson and Toni Deitz.

Rick is survived by his children, Amber Deitz (Adam Garrett), Charlie Kelty (Tanner Coning) and Shawn Deitz Kreger; grandchildren, Ava and Liam Kelty; mothers of his children, Tina Harner and Karen Kreger; best friends since childhood, John Clinger and Mike Gross; former son-in-law and friend, Chris Kelty; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A memorial service will begin at 5:00pm at the funeral home.
