Richard G. Phillips, Jr., age 66 of Huber Heights, passed away October 2, 2014. He was born March 6, 1948 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Richard G. and Ruth Phillips, Sr. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Russell Phillips.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 45 years, Debra Phillips: son and daughter-in-law: David and Alyssa Phillips; daughter and son-in-law: Jennifer and Jason Hegyi; grandchildren: Brandon and Gabrielle Phillips, Noell Dratler, Chloe Green and Kadence Hegyi; brothers: Carlos Phillips of Zanesville, Ronnie (Donna) Phillips of Waterford, Allen (Mary Ann) Phillips of Roseville and Jerry Phillips of Zanesville; beloved dog, Peanut "Ween"; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Richard was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retiring after 22 ½ years of service.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Dayton National Cemetery, 4100 W. Third Street. Contributions may be made in Richard's memory to either The Hospice of Dayton or to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements by Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road.
