Richard Douglas Paxton, age 82 and lovingly known as "Doug", went home to Heaven on September 19, 2024. He was born on August 28, 1942 to the late Richard & Betty Paxton.
He played in many classic country bands for over 50 years. He also loved to go fishing. Doug was a loving husband, a wonderful father, and the best grandpa. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Paxton and his sister, Linda Evans.
His memory will be cherished by his beloved wife of 30 years, Carol Paxton; his children: Jon Powell (Veronica), Jerry Dunlap, Joe Dunlap, Richard "Ricky" Paxton, Jimmy Paxton, and Tamara Paxton; grandchildren; Leann, Nathan (Jen), Mason (Katie), Josh (Tasha), Scott, Anthony, Brandy, Chelsea, Johnny, Nadine; 1 great-grandson and 3 great-granddaughters; his brother, Jeff Paxton (Cheryl); his faithful companion, Daisy; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 3:00pm to 4:00pm on Monday September 23, 2024 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, in Dayton, where the funeral service will begin at 4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Doug's memory may be may to Crossroads Hospice.
Doug will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery at a later date.
