Richard P. Ehlers

Ehlers, Richard P., age 84, of Huber Heights, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2009 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born August 22, 1924 in Versailles, Ohio the son of Irvin and Sophia Ehlers. He served in the US Navy during WWII and worked for 39 years for McCall Corporation. Richard also worked for EDS for 15 years. He attended Open Bible Christian Church. Richard is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie Ehlers; and his sister, Carolyn Gunder. Survivors include his children, Rick Ehlers of Asheville, NC, Randy (Linda) Ehlers of Tipp City, OH, Barry (Anita) Ehlers of Huber Heights, Ron (Diana) Ehlers of Hillsboro, OH, and Brian (Darcy) Ehlers of Englewood; grandchildren, Alec, Ian, Kimberly, Tom, Jason, Tyler, Ashley, Kelsey, Alicia, Kara, Ryan, Phillip, Destini, and Jaysten; 7 great grandchildren; and his brothers, Duane (Janet) Ehlers and Leroy (Bonieda) Ehlers. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, Ohio. Interment will follow at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 PM. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
