Richard Mcenheimer

March 5, 1958 — July 17, 2021

Richard "Dick" Patrick McEnheimer, 63, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on July 17th, 2021, after a 19-month battle with renal cancer.

He was born on March 5, 1958, in Dayton, Ohio, to Robert and Mary Patricia (Shanesy) McEnheimer and was a graduate of Stebbins High School, class of 1976.

Dick was a loud and intrusive person who loved passionately and cared deeply for all. Never one to shy away from an awkward conversation or controversial subject, he spent his life ruffling feathers to seek truth and understand mankind. Beneath his rough and abrasive exterior was a heart of absolute gold. Dick sought out those in need and spoiled the ones he loved whenever he got the chance. As a truck driver for 20 years, Dick sacrificed countless hours and an abundance of miles away from his loved ones to provide a good life for his family. That was just who he was; the ever caretaker and compassionate provider to those in need.

He was greatly cherished by all of those who knew him, loved him, and understood his zeal for life.
In addition to his wife of 39 years, Debra (Ferguson) McEnheimer, two children; Richard (Stephanie) McEnheimer, Jr. and Laura (Vincent) Pfeiffer, and his 3 beloved grandchildren; William, Norah, and Elena, Richard Patrick McEnheimer was survived by his five siblings; Kathy (Jon) Parker, Robert C. (Karen) McEnheimer, Sandie (Bill) Cheers, Susie (John) Lincoln, and Dianne Young, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his parents; Robert and Mary Patricia (Shanesy) McEnheimer.

Gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home-South Chapel. Memorial Service will follow at 5:00 pm with open sharing. Newcomer Funeral Home is located at 3940 Kettering Blvd. Kettering, OH 45439.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of Dayton would be greatly appreciated to support the team that cared for him so well in his final days.
