Richard Lee Markland

Richard Lee Markland, age 91, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away on April 5, 2023. He was born in Covington, Ohio on April 2, 1932 to the late Jonathan and Vada Markland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers Doran Wayne Markland, and Robert Lemuel Markland; and children Christal Lynn Markland and Clifford Barry Markland.

Richard is survived by his wife of 64 years Edna Markland; children Cindy (Keith) Dueer and Blaine Markland; siblings Linda Susan Geiger and Donald (Cynthia) Markland; grandchildren Andrea (Chris) Sutter, Joyce (Brad) Raymore, Casey Markland, Alex Markland, Joey Markland, Brian Markland, and Kenzie Markland; great grandchildren James Raymore, Gracie Sutter, and Mackenzie Raymore; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other friends and family.

Richard was an active long term member of Bethel Christian Assembly of God. He had a successful career at the United States Post Office, retiring after 39 years. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio. Visitation will be held the evening prior from 5 PM to 7 PM on Tuesday, April 11, at the funeral home. Richard will be laid to rest at Heritage Hills Memory Gardens in Springboro.
