Richard L. "Pete" Grable
Age 68, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2008, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Grable & Rachel Hoffman; and by one brother, Fred Grable.
Pete is survived by his wife Harriet Grable; four children, Ty (& his wife, Doris) Grable, Doug (& his wife, Monnica) Grable, Gaye (& her husband, Melvin) Jordan and Richelle (& her husband, Al) Hawkins; seven step-children; 26 grandchildren; two brothers, William (& his wife, Alice) Grable and Robert (& his wife, Linda) Grable; and by a host of relatives and friends.
Pete was an Eagle Scout. He started his working career at NCR. After 12 years of service he went on to work for the City of Dayton. He retired from the City in 2003 with 30 years of service.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hawker Cemetery, Beavercreek.
If friends desire, contributions may be made in memory of Pete to the Dayton Area Diabetes Association.
