Richard Charles Kitchen
May 18, 1958 – December 22, 2017
RICHARD KITCHEN, 59, of Springboro Ohio passed away suddenly on December 22nd
due to complications related to the flu. Rick was an avid runner and cyclist who also
enjoyed tennis, fishing, swimming and family time. His passion for fishing began as a
child during trips to the upper peninsula of Michigan with his father and grandfather.
Rick attended Wright State University, graduating from the College of Business and
was a member of the Beta Phi Omega Fraternity. While attending Wright State
University, he met and married his wife Candace. During his time in college he worked
for the Springfield Fire Division and specialized in hazmat containment and as a
medic. For the past 20 years Rick worked for Med Pass Inc., a subsidiary of Reynolds
and Reynolds, as a sales manager.
In his personal time, Rick officiated for wrestling and swimming. He particularly
enjoyed watching his daughter, Logan, perform vocally as well as compete in
swimming, and also his son, Ryan, participate in karate and the Springboro High
School JROTC.

Rick is survived by his wife of 27 years, son(18) and daughter(15), as well as his
mother Mary Kitchen of Centerville, sister Barbara Jenkins of Springfield, brother Mike
(Kathy) Kitchen of Franklin, sister Brenda (Bob) Colton of Centerville,sister-in-law
Sherrye West Beaudoin, brother-in-law Thomas West and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Richard Kitchen and mother-in-law Elena
West.
Funeral services are to be held at St.Henry Catholic Church on Saturday December 30,
2017, beginning with a Reception at 10am. and immediately follow by a Burial Mass at
11am. A celebration of life luncheon will be held at the St. Henry PAC/Gym at 12 pm.
St. Henry Catholic Church is located at 6696 N. Springboro Pike, Dayton, OH.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested Donations be given in Rick's memory to his
