Keaton Sr. Richard Earl (Rick), age 74, formerly of Xenia, OH passed away Wednesday June 5, 2024 at Southview Hospital after a lengthy illness. Rick was born in Dayton, OH to the late Russell Ervin Keaton & Mary Vivian Walters Keaton on July 28, 1949. Rick was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the US Army with the 173rd Abn from Feb '68 - Nov '69, where he received numerous awards and medals. Rick was an avid music collector with a vast knowledge of artists and could always tell you if "there's a song about that." Rick had a great sense of humor, even at his own expense. He could make a joke about anything. Rick is survived by his loving wife Brenda S. Camp Keaton, daughters Tonya Ferguson, Tara (Jeremy) Garber, Tia (Neil Brewer) Keaton, son, Richard (Christin Oldham) Keaton Jr., 13 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters Judith Stoner, Phyllis (Jean) Colwell, Alice (Sue) Bass, Laura (Mae) Miller, brothers Stanley and Michael Keaton along with several nephews & a niece. Graveside services to be held Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 11:00 am at Woodland Cemetery, Xenia, Ohio. No alcoholic beverages at any time, in honor of Rick’s 32 years of sobriety. Celebration of life immediately following services at VFW Post 2402, 850 W. 2nd St., Xenia, OH 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
