CHANSLER, Richard J. "Real Dick" "Mr. C", age72, of Huber Heights, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at home.
He was born December 23, 1939 in Brownstown, Michigan. Richard served his country with the United States Navy. He was a member of the SEALS Special Op Team. He was also a member of VFW 3438, American Legion Post 165, Eagles 2306, Moose 1645 and AMVETS 2003.
Richard is survived by his wife of 24 years, Phyllis Chansler; children, Chad (Holly) Chansler, Jeff Chansler, Tim (Mary) Chansler, Sean Chansler and Bill (Sonja) Madewell; step-son, Willie Buck Jr.; daughters, Tracy Sweeney, Sherry (Chuck) Jeffries and Della Chansler; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 23 nieces and nephews; sisters, Patricia (Larry) Burchfield and Debra (Fred) Gould; brother, Jerry Wayne White; step-sister, Terry Drumm; 9 sisters and brothers-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard E. and Maragaret (Courtney) Chansler; brother, Larry Ray Chansler; sister, Vickie Clemmer.
Rev. Dale McCloud officiating. Burial will follow in Willow View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Phyllis Chansler.
Following services, a celebration of life will be held at VFW Post 3438 in West Carrollton.
