Richard Darrell Goodwin, age 67, of Huber Heights, passed away on December 29, 2021.
Richard was born on October 11, 1954 to the late James Hart and Dorothy Brandon. He joined the United States Army in 1974 and continued to serve at Wright-Patterson Air Force base as a Civil Servant.
He enjoyed grilling barbecue and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved to watch Westerns, Horror and Sci-Fi movies. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether he was sitting on his porch or going for a walk.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his beloved high school sweetheart, mother to his two daughters, and former wife, Lynne Goodwin; former wife, Maria Thomas; and his brother, Wesley Brandon.
Richard's memory will be cherished by his children: DeLeeia Marie (Antony) Goodwin-Lyons, Shannon Renee' Goodwin, and Charles Howard (Andrea) Jackson; grandchildren: Xzavier Marcellus Lyons, Jadelyn Talize Lyons, Elias Richlyn Goodwin, Charlie Heiress Jackson, and Josiah Ryan Goodwin; siblings: Monica Brandon, Monague Brandon Jr., and Lelia (Brandon) Cockrell; as well as two beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends.
A gathering will held from 11:30am to 12:30pm on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, in Dayton, where a memorial service will begin at 12:30pm. Richard will be interred at Dayton National Cemetery.
