Gunnery sergeant, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, age 57, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 23, 2008, at his brothers home in Englewood. He was preceded in his death by his father, US Navy Chief Warrant Officer Richard G. Huffman Sr. (Ret.); mother, Marilyn P. Huffman; along with his brother Timothy Ray Huffman. Richard's military career included two tours of duty during the Vietnamese conflict along with serving as a Drill Instructor at Paris Island, South Carolina. His Civilian life was spent in the retail Management Industry. Richard is survived by his brothers, Joe Huffman and Lee Huffman along with his sons, Richard III, Jeremy, Daniel and daughter Jennifer. There will be a small family gathering followed by a Military burial at sea.
