FINLEY, Richard Daniel, age 86, of Dayton, Ohio passed away Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Kettering Hospital after a lenghthy illness. He was born on July 9, 1921 in Vandiver Alabama to Rev. Henry Abby Finley and Elsie Green Finley. Richard served in the US Army during World War II. He was employed at Sunshine Biscuit, Apex Tool Company and retired from Standard Register where he was affectionately referred to as Cadillac. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, aunts, uncles, brothers Raymond, Samuel, and Sylvester, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He is survived by a devoted wife, Charlotte, daughter Gladys Jackson, son, Richard Finley (Rhonda), grandchildren, Curtis Jackson (June) and Taryn Finley, brother-in-law, Luther Russell and sisters-in-law, Theresa and Henrietta Finley, and Geraldine Charles, special Lisa Polk a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at the Bethel Baptist Church, 401 S. Paul Lawrence Dunbar Street, Dayton, on Friday, December 21, 2007 at 12:00PM; eulogy by Dr. Charles Brown, Pastor.
