Richard Dix

Richard Dix, age 89 of Dayton, Ohio passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Hillspring of Springboro. He was born August 13, 1930 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Edgar and Vassie (Barnes) Dix.

Richard retired as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Dayton after 30 years. He went on to work at Sears for 15 years and retired from there. Richard was a member of the Bethesda Temple Apostolic Church where he served as a deacon, served in the men's ministry group "Angels of Mercy", hall monitor, and worked in the food pantry.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Dix; brothers, Charles, Wayman and Joseph; and sisters, Ruth and Emma.

Richard will be missed by his loving daughters, Rosemary Hayes, Marva Dix, Luchanna Dix, and Lisa Greene; four grandchildren, Teri Slaton, Earl Hayes, Eric Collins and Edmund Lewis II; five great-grandchildren & two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Bethesda Temple Apostolic Church, 3701 Salem Ave., Dayton. Burial West Memory Gardens.
