Richard "Dick" Boyd, age 73 of Dayton, Ohio passed away on June 7, 2021 after fighting a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 13, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio son of the late Clifford (Thelma) Boyd and Hilda (Reuben) Chambers.
Dick was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Dick graduated from the University of Toledo serving as a local pharmacist for over 50 years. He was an avid sports fan and a member of multiple dart and bowling leagues over the years. Dick loved spending time with friends and family while enjoying a drink. As a surprise to many, he loved listening to rap music. Dick was a straight shooter and you always knew where you stood with him. He was very generous to family, friends, and those in need.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his grandson, Liam.
Dick is survived by his wife of 22 years, Belinda Hellard; children, Heather (Tim), Matt (Rebekah), Alexis (Phil), Jennifer, Nikki, and Heather; grandchildren, Morgan, Bryce, Jordan, Roman, Gavin, Kaidence, Sofia, Phoenix, Haylee, Austin, Cole, Evie, and 1 grandson on the way; sister-in-law, Janie (Paul) Hartman; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
A celebration of Dick's life will be held at a later date.
