Richard Deeter, Sr. was born August 19, 1925 in Palestine, Ohio and he passed away in his home in Germantown, Ohio on July 27, 2018 (3 weeks before his 93rd birthday).
He was one of ten children, born to William and Anna Deeter of Palestine, Ohio. After graduating from high school, he was drafted and served in the Korean War for 2 years. After returning to the U.S., he lived in Colorado where he worked at the Fitzsimons Army Hospital. We thank and honor him for his service to our country.
He eventually returned to Ohio where he met his wife "Kay" and they were married in November, 1956. He and Kay were married 62 years and had six children. Richard worked at General Motors 8 years, and NCR Corporation 25 years. He loved attending church meetings with his family, reading his bible and singing/listening to gospel hymns.
He is preceded in death by his son, "Andy" Deeter who passed away in February, 2018, and his grandson, Jordan Andrew Deeter (Andy's son) who passed away in August, 1993.
He is survived by his wife, Kay and their five children, Anna Newman (OH), Christal Hudson (TN), Izetta McKenzie (CA), Rebecca McGuire (TN), and Richard Deeter, Jr. (OH), as well as one sibling, Treva Bain, of Greenville (OH), 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
His infectious smile will be missed by all.
