Richard A. Cheatham (84) of New Carlisle, passed away peacefully on May 6 , 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on June 22, 1933 in Dayton Ohio, to the late James & Dorothy Cheatham.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, JoyceCheatham (2001) son, Rick Cheatham and several siblings. Richard is survived by his children: Cathy (Dave) Hoffer, Kim Wamer, Kevin Wamer. Grandchildren: Josh (Val) Mullins, Travis Wamer, Brandi (Mike) Pulver, Logan Wamer, Cori Wamer; great-grandchildren: Weston, Max and Penelope. His sisters: Carol Covey and Patty Glascer.
Richard served in the United States Navy 1950-1954 on the USS Baltimore CA- 68 during the Korean War. Following his military service, Richard became an over-the-road truck driver for 30+ years. Richard was an active
member of the Medway Baptist Church for 30 years. He loved to serve as an usher and help wherever he was able. He was a lover of the Word and had memorized many of the Psalms, his favorite book in the Bible.
Family will receive guests from 12:30-2:00 pm Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Newcomer South Funeral Home in Kettering. A service will immediately follow at 2;00 pm at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Karl Chadrick. Private burial with the family will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in West Carrollton.
