Richard A. Cheatham

Richard A. Cheatham (84) of New Carlisle, passed away peacefully on May 6 , 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on June 22, 1933 in Dayton Ohio, to the late James & Dorothy Cheatham.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, JoyceCheatham (2001) son, Rick Cheatham and several siblings. Richard is survived by his children: Cathy (Dave) Hoffer, Kim Wamer, Kevin Wamer. Grandchildren: Josh (Val) Mullins, Travis Wamer, Brandi (Mike) Pulver, Logan Wamer, Cori Wamer; great-grandchildren: Weston, Max and Penelope. His sisters: Carol Covey and Patty Glascer.
Richard served in the United States Navy 1950-1954 on the USS Baltimore CA- 68 during the Korean War. Following his military service, Richard became an over-the-road truck driver for 30+ years. Richard was an active
member of the Medway Baptist Church for 30 years. He loved to serve as an usher and help wherever he was able. He was a lover of the Word and had memorized many of the Psalms, his favorite book in the Bible.
Family will receive guests from 12:30-2:00 pm Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Newcomer South Funeral Home in Kettering. A service will immediately follow at 2;00 pm at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Karl Chadrick. Private burial with the family will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in West Carrollton. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton at 324 Wilmington Pike, Dayton OH 45420.
