Richard E. Buckner

Richard E. Buckner, age 75, of Dayton, passed away at home, May 10, 2023. Richard was born in Dayton, Ohio on December 23, 1947 to the late William and Vivian Buckner.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clifford, Billy, and Kenny Buckner.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Buckner; son, Aaron Buckner; niece, Ann Fleischer; numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.

Richard retired from Alpha Omega. In his free time, he enjoyed birds, gardening and traveling. He was one of a kind and always wore a smile. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held from 3:00pm-5:00pm on Tuesday, May 16th, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio). Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 17th, 2023 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Dayton, Ohio. Richard will be laid to rest at Miami Valley Memory Gardens following Mass.

Donations may be made to The National Audubon Society (ATTN: Donations, 225 Varick Street, 7th floor, New York, NY 10014) in honor of Richard's love of birds.
