Richard L. Brewster

Brewster, Richard Lee, age 72, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away March 18, 2019, at Brookdale Beavercreek Assisted Living.

Richard was born December 13, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio. He graduated Woodrow Wilson High School in 1964 and joined the Air Force where he served 4 years active duty followed by service in the Air Force Reserves. He retired from General Motors in 1985. Richard was a member of Brookville Nazarene Church. Richard enjoyed fishing, going to the movies, coaching baseball and football, working on cars, watching sports, and spending time with friends and family. Time spent with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-nieces, and great-nephews, was the true delight of his life. He was happiest being Papa Richard or Uncle Richard.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Gene and Hazel Brewster. He is survived by his daughters Angie (Mark) Reed and Jennifer (Thad) Inwood, step-children Lori and Travis Mendenhall, grandchildren Sarah (Billy) Rickels, Jared (Nadia) Reed, Evan (Allie) Reed, Elizabeth Wilcox, Jessica, Jacob, and Seth Schmidt, and Travis Lee Mendenhall, great-granddaughters Leila and Nora Reed, step-mother Marcella Brewster, sisters Jeanie Snow, Linda (Warner) Sykes, Sharon (Carl) Gregg, and Jeanette Scott, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Family will greet friends from 1-3:00 PM on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio, 45432. The funeral service will immediately follow visitation. There will be no graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brookville Nazarene Church.
