Richard Bilby

May 31, 1946 — May 20, 2024

Richard "Rick" A. Bilby, age 77 of Dayton, Ohio passed away surrounded by his wife and daughters, on May 20, 2024. He was born May 31, 1946 in Muncie, Indiana, son of the late Wayne and Delores Bilby.

Rick was a loving husband, girl dad, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend. He retired after 30 years of proudly serving his country as a Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Rick enjoyed fishing, gardening, yard work, shopping, and spending time with his family. He was a people person and enjoyed bringing a smile to those around him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Bilby; and son-in-law, Scott Craig.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elaine Bilby; daughters, Melinda Bilby, Lisa (John) Buetow, Shelly Craig, and Kelly Bilby; grandchildren, Elizabeth (R.J), Benjamin (Veronica), John (Beckie), Jesse, Cera, Charles (Danielle), Scott Michael, Casey (Alyssa), Ross, and Calista; 10 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Barbara Bilby; nieces, Katie and Terri; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 2:00pm-2:30pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A memorial service will begin at 2:30pm at the funeral home.
