Known by Duane to all, he was a well-liked southern gentleman. Duane was a Korean War Veteran and was recently recognized for his service to our country.
He was known as a dedicated hard worker that focused on precision and completeness. A retiree from The University of Dayton, Printing and Design after 35 years of employment. His boss and coworkers described him as a dedicated printing press operator whose quality and precision had a huge impact on the department by his faithful operation of the large AB Dick and Harrison presses of which he was in charge.
He was a faithful man, enjoyed a personal relationship with the Lord and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He had numerous hobbies including woodworking, antique car restoration, bird watching and traveling. Duane instilled a hard work ethic, a love of gardening, farming and nature, in all of his and Donna's children. He was proud of them, as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren. When his beloved Donna was stricken with Alzheimer's Dementia, he and Tim faithfully cared for her. Likewise, when his youngest son had a life altering car accident, he was there for him. It needs to be noted the dedication Tim had for his father and mother in their times of need.
Duane also worked at South Dayton Urological as their maintenance man. Always working to mitigate maintenance issues before they occurred. He was appreciated and loved by many people throughout his life.

Duane made friends wherever he was during his life but his love for his wife and family was always first. He was funny and liked to tease his friends, family and grandchildren. His family loved him dearly and will miss him deeply.
