Richard E. Barney "Dutch"

Richard E. Barney, "Dutch," age 77 of Dayton, passed away Monday, July 20, 2020. He was born October 3, 1942 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Elmer Barney and Edna Smith.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Barney; and brother, Lonnie Barney.

Dutch is survived by his children, Richard R. (Brenda) Barney, Lisa Norman (Tim Webber), Penny (Rocky) Jenkins, Angela (Richard) Brown; grandchildren, Joshua Barney, Joseph (Heather) Barney, Christopher (Amanda) Hardman, Casey Hardman, Roger (Kayla) Sigmon, Jeffrey (Tosha) Sigmon, Nicole Sigmon (Christopher Adkins), Heather (Adam) Carter, Patricia Slagle, Gina (Dave) Hurley, Jessica Jenkins, Chelsea Jenkins, Rocky Jenkins Jr., Kameron Jenkins, Misty (James) Keller, Corey Brown; numerous great grandchildren; siblings, Susan Walters, Ernest (Kathy) Barney, Audrey Hines; a host of nieces, nephews and many friends, as well as special friend, Richard Greisheimer; and beloved dog, Bear.

Dutch enjoyed fishing, camping and being with friends and family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 27, 2020 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). Funeral service will begin at 1 pm. Burial will follow in Royal Oak Memorial Gardens in Brookville, OH, where he will be laid to rest with his wife, Kathryn.
