Ballweg, Richard A., "Dick", 68, of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by his loving family. Preceded in death by his parents, Clarence & Catherine (Cogan) Ballweg, siblings, Ed, Betty, Kitty, Ray, Tom, and Clarence.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Kathy (Lorenz); his children, Rick (Julie), Mike (Kelley), Deanna (Dave)Seubert, adopted son, Chris May; 7 grandchildren, Ricky, Chelsea, Tiffany, Sydney, Michael, Matthew, and Sami; 1 great granddaughter, Bailey Ann, 1 sister, Mary Lou Driver; brother & sister in laws, Patty (Dave) Jones, Johnny (Linda) Lorenz, Clara (Scotty)Charles, Jimmy Lorenz, Anita Ballweg, and a host of nieces, nephews, special friend, Larry Hyatt, his faithful companion Katie.
Grandpa's greatest pastime was spending time with his grandchildren fishing and being their biggest fan at their numerous sporting events. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road where a funeral service will held at 1:00pm on Monday, February 11, 2013. Burial to follow in Mt. Zion Park Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Hospice of Dayton.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Joffe , Dr. Tabrah & their staffs for all of the additional years they gave us to spend with Dick. Also, many thanks are extended to the staff at Good Samaritan Heart Hospital and to the Hospice of Dayton for their loving care in his last days.
