Reverend Claude T. Crain, age 79 of Huber Heights, went home to be with the Lord on June 20, 2019. He was born August 3, 1939 in Wilder, Tennessee to the late Carl and Pauline Crain. In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by his brothers: Clyde Crain and Calvin Crain.
Claude is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Charlotte Crain; daughter, Cynthia Crain; grandson, Zachary Crain; brothers and sisters: Barbara (Chester) Combs, Charles "Rudy" (Gail) Crain, James (Shirley) Ford, Claudette (Chuck) Loyd and Carol Crain; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Claude was a Horticulturist for the City of Dayton, and retired after 35 years of service. He was a minister in the Freewill Baptist Church; was a Sunday school teacher and deacon; and was a member of First Dayton Freewill Baptist Church. Claude and his wife devoted their lives to working for Christ and winning lost souls to Christ for the furtherance of His kingdom. Claude was an extremely proud grandfather to his grandson, Zachary.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 am on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Dunkard Ridge Cemetery, Hillsboro, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Claude's memory to the Alzheimer's Association or to Men for Missions.
