Rev. William E. "Billy Jack" Boggs, age 82, of Fairborn, went home to be with the Lord on October 15, 2022. He was born in Lawton, Kentucky, on May 19, 1940, the son of the late James and Eunice Boggs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sons-in-law, Rev. Robert Smith and Dale Schepman.
William is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Joyce (Knipp) Boggs; his daughters, Lori Smith, Gina (Rev. Victor) Vera, Amy Boggs, Sonya Schepman and Tonya Patrick; grandchildren, Alicia (Rev. Jason), Angela (Rev. Shawn), Ashley (Rev. Doug), Amber, Victoria (Rev. Nathan), Cynthia (Donnie), Olivia, Marissa, Reiley, Gavin (Breanna), Chandler and Daiva; 15 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; his "brothers", Roger, Jim and Roy; his AXC Church Family; and many other loving family and friends.
William retired from the Chrysler Corporation after 32 years of employment and from pastoring his Church after numerous years. He was the Founder and a devoted member of The Apostolics of Xenia Church. In his free time, he enjoyed preaching, singing, playing the piano, golfing, playing basketball, softball, and cheering on his Kentucky Wildcats. He never met a stranger and was known for his big smile and great sense of humor. He was very quick witted and kept those around him laughing. His faith was something he held very dear and passed that legacy down to his family and those he pastored. William touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am-1:00pm, on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at The Apostolics of Xenia Church, 978 U.S. Route 42, Xenia, where a Celebration of his Life will begin at 1:00pm with Rev. Victor Vera officiating. Burial will follow at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn.
Donations may be made in his memory to The Apostolics of Xenia Church, P.O. Box 215, Xenia, OH 45385.
