Rev. Linda S. Jones, age 73, of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on July 22, 2023 after a brief battle with brain cancer. She was born on February 8, 1950 to the late Harry and Marjorie Smith.
She was a warrior for the Lord and a force to be reckoned with. Linda helped everyone who was in need, and no one was ever turned away. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an ordained reverend for over 24 years at Our Father's House Church of Dayton. Linda was the sweetest and most passionate person you could find, and she would do anything for her family and for God. Her presence and love will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her daughter, Brittany Jefferies; and her brother, Harry C. Smith.
She will be remembered by her loving husband of 52 years, Thomas Jones Sr.; her children: Marjorie "Melinda" Jones, Thomas Jones Jr., Chad Jones, Darrell Jones, Mary Palmer, Jarrod Jones, Aron Jones, Joyce (Bryan) Maynard, and Macey Jones; 22 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Roger Smith, Marjorie "Pudgy" (Jim) Mayfield, Cathy Baer, Virginia "Sissy" Kramer, Mark Smith and Johnny Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, in Dayton. Following the visitation, Linda will be laid to rest at Willow View Cemetery.
