Reverend Edward F. Thomas age 81 of Huber Heights, departed this temporary life on September 8, 2010 to walk with Jesus; it was a day he was looking forward to with great excitement.
Ed was born in Beckley, WVA and moved to Dayton in 1953. He was retired from the Chrysler Corporation and was a retired minister with The Church of God Cleveland TN. and member of the Evangel Church of God. Ed was a man of prayer. He spent hours praying and believing God for the needs of his family, friends and world. He leaves behind a great legacy of prayer.
He also leaves behind to join him later his loving and faithful wife of 61 years Noriene, his daughter Darlene Dee Holland his son Jerry (Dawn) Thomas. He was a loving Papa to 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren - Tara Noble (Darwin, Tommy, Morgan) Dayne Thomas (Angie, Jade, Ava) Stacey Morgan, Jamie Thomas, Joel Thomas (Ryah) Corey Thomas (Christina, Kendrick). A brother Dennis Thomas and 2 sisters Lily Pittman and Alma Ransom, as well as a host of wonderful family and friends also survive him
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lacy and Maudy Thomas, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, and son in law Danny Holland along with many other loved ones.
Thank you to everyone who so graciously poured out their affection and care to Ed and the family and thank you to the Evangel Church of God as well as Hospice of Dayton.
Friends and family may visit Sunday, September 12th, at Newcomer Funeral Home 4104 Needmore Rd from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be at 11am Monday the 13th also at Newcomer Funeral Home, Pastor David Renfro officiating. Burial will follow services at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
