Ressie M. Carter, born April 6, 1927 in Lee County, Virginia, passed away peacefully July 12, 2015 at the Soin Medical Center at the age of 88.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vogal Carter; son, Richard Carter; sisters, Myrtle Lawson, Bernice Carter, Lois Paxton; and brother, Jimmy Johnson from Penning-gap, Virginia.
She is survived by her son, Morris (Gladys) Carter; daughter, Brenda (Bob) Durbin; daughter in law, Kimberly Carter; sister, Gladys Woodard from N. Hollywood, California; grandchildren, Jerry & Jennifer Durbin, Laura Reeder, Karen & Jason Parrott, Theresa & Kenny West, Scott Carter, Rebecca Carter, Rick Carter Jr.; 13 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 from 4 PM until 6 PM service time at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424.
Family will receive guests Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 10AM at Province Funeral Home, 425 E Morgan Ave, Pennington Gap, VA 24277 to go in procession to Johnson Cemetery for burial.
