Reginald "Rudy" Payne, age 67 of Dayton, passed away November 23, 2017 at the Dayton VA Medical Center. He was born in Memphis, TN to the late Harrison and Odessa (McChriston-Payne) Worley. Rudy served in the US Army as a Military Policeman serving in the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, Rudy was preceded in death by his brother, William L. Payne; sister, Raye R. Payne who loved and cared for him until her passing; both maternal and paternal grandparents and (3) aunts.
He is survived by his devoted children: Alisha (Clint) Thompson, Tonya Monroe, and Tyrone (Dequindra) Payne; (10) grandchildren, (15) great-grandchildren; (3) sisters: Jacqueline (James) Richardson of Dayton, Janice Lynn (Otis) Thomas, and Tebbi Worley of Memphis, TN. He also leaves behind (1) uncle, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special thanks to his best friend, Phillip Clark and to his Care Companion, Shirley Johnson who warmed his heart each time she walked into his room.
Rudy was a gentle, kind, and compassionate man who loved his family and he truly loved the Lord. He is at peaceful rest with the Lord and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a member of Christian Life Center of Dayton, OH.
Funeral Services will be held: 11:00 am Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home (North Chapel), 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
